Position: Research Assistant
Project: Traditional Technology of Kumaun Himalaya
Funded by: Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi
Duration: 11 months
Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 12,363/-
The research project “Traditional Technology of Kumaun Himalaya,” funded by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with various research activities related to the project. The criteria and requirements for the Research Assistant position are outlined below:
Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum educational qualification of a Master’s degree in History
Research Experience:
Prior research experience in the field of history, culture, anthropology, or related areas is highly desirable. Familiarity with research methodologies, data collection techniques, and archival research will be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the cultural, historical, and technological aspects of the Kumaun Himalaya region.
- Proficiency in data collection, data analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Hindi and preferably in the local language of the region.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and research software/tools.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and analyzing relevant data, including conducting field surveys, interviews, and archival research.
- Assist in preparing research reports, academic papers, and presentations.
- Provide support in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences related to the research project.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Duration and Remuneration:
The position is for 11 months (entirely temporary), with a monthly remuneration of Rs. 12,363/-
